THE WILLOW HOUSE

Our lovely Victorian home on a quiet road one mile outside Mountaindale in Sullivan County (upstate NY) is for rent, furnished and available immediately (from July 2014) for one year, and with the possibility of extension.

The sun-lit house, which is located less than a 2 hour drive from New York City (there is also a bus), features four bedrooms, two baths, a beautiful wooden wrap-around porch, a wood stove, four acres of landscaped gardens, a fish pond, a vegetable garden, and borders on a private lake. The area offers lots of hiking and skiing (in the winter), and a wonderful nearby spa.

The price is $1,800 per month + utilities, and we prefer renters who enjoy gardening.

THINGS TO DO

You can spend the days sun bathing, blueberry picking, bird watching, or walking along one of the many trails that start in the woods behind the house. Minnewaska State Park and its hikes are a short drive away, as are many charming New England towns that offer wonderful antique shopping and more. The cottage is 25 miles from Bethel Woods Performing Arts Center. Yoga classes offered in Mountaindale, just a short walk away.
